Manual Jewellery Designing Course – Level 1

A piece of jewellery is a work of art. Learn to understand all about gemstones and metals which go into making the beautiful piece of jewellery. Understand the world of designs and bring them to life in your jewellery and become a successful jewellery designer.

Duration : 3 months

Course Content:

  1. Introduction to Designing: Students will get to learn the basic concepts of jewellery designing, including the tools and materials used, as well as the design process.
  2. Principles of Designing: Students will get to learn the principles of design, including balance, proportion, and harmony, and how to apply them to jewellery design.
  3. Creating Designs Using Different Techniques and Guidelines: Students will get to learn how to create jewellery designs using different techniques and guidelines, including sketching and rendering.
  4. Introduction to Precious Metals: Students will get to learn about precious metals, including their properties, uses in jewellery, and different types.
  5. Illustration of Shape, Form, and Texture of Metals: Students will get to learn to illustrate the shape, form, and texture of metals in jewellery design, including the use of tools and techniques.
  6. Overview of Different Types of Gemstones & Their Illustration: Students will get to learn an overview of different types of gemstones, their properties, and how to illustrate them in jewellery design.
  7. Understanding The Role of Settings in Gemstones and Its Illustration: Students will get to learn about the role of settings in gemstone jewellery, including different types of settings and how to illustrate them in jewellery design.
  8. Learn to Design with Guidelines: Students will get to learn how to use guidelines to create jewellery designs that are balanced, proportional, and visually appealing.
  1. Types of Pendants: Students will get to learn about different types of pendant designs, including their styles, settings, and materials.
  2. Types of Earrings: Students will get to learn about different types of earring designs, including their styles, settings, and materials.
  3. Hand Accessories: Students will get to learn about different types of hand accessory designs, including bracelets, cuffs, and bangles.
  4. Necklaces: Students will get to learn about different types of necklace designs, including their styles, settings, and materials.
  5. Rings: Students will get to learn about different types of ring designs, including their styles, settings, and materials.
  6. Understand The Concept of Flexibility, Connectivity, and Manufacturing: This course would teach you about the concept of flexibility and connectivity in jewellery design, as well as the manufacturing process and how it affects design.
  7. Project: This course would include a jewellery design project, allowing you to apply your knowledge and skills to create your own unique piece of jewellery.
  8. Assignments: This course would include various assignments to practice and refine your jewellery design skills.
  9. Portfolio Assistance: This course would provide you with portfolio assistance, including how to showcase your jewellery designs and market your skills.

Internal Assessments, End of the programme Theory & Practical Examination:  At the end of the course, you would take internal assessments and a theory and practical exam to demonstrate your understanding of jewellery design.

Course Duration:  The Manual Jewellery Designing Programme Level 1 will be completed in 60 sessions, Monday to Friday-2.5 Hours in 3 months.

Course Outcome:  The Manual Jewellery Designing Programme Level 1 will teach students the principles of designing and how to create designs using different techniques and guidelines. Students will learn about precious metals, the shape, form, and texture of metals, and an overview of different types of gemstones and their illustration. They will also gain an understanding of the role of settings in gemstones and learn to design with guidelines. The course will cover different types of jewellery including pendants, earrings, hand accessories, necklaces, and rings. Students will also learn about the concept of flexibility, connectivity, and manufacturing, and will have the opportunity to work on projects, assignments, and portfolio assistance.
